Math and text

Arithmetic and string operations.

13 nodes. Right-click any node in the editor to read this documentation in the app.

Math

➕ Add

id numpy_add · Math · Python export: yes

Element-wise a + b (np.add), with NumPy broadcasting. Outputs a DataFrame.

Inputs

PortTypeDescription
andarray | DataFrame | numberLeft operand.
bndarray | DataFrame | numberRight operand.

Outputs

PortTypeDescription
sumDataFramea + b.

📐 Arange

id numpy_arange · Math · Python export: yes

Evenly spaced values from start up to (not including) stop — np.arange. Each bound can be typed in or wired from another node.

Inputs

PortTypeDescription
startfloatFirst value (overrides Start).
stopfloatEnd value, exclusive (overrides Stop).
stepfloatSpacing between values (overrides Step).

Outputs

PortTypeDescription
arrayndarray1-D float array of evenly spaced values.

Fields

FieldTypeDefaultChoices
Startfloat0
Stopfloat10
Stepfloat1

➗ Divide

id numpy_divide · Math · Python export: yes

Element-wise a / b (np.divide), with NumPy broadcasting. Division by zero gives inf/nan rather than an error.

Inputs

PortTypeDescription
andarray | DataFrame | numberNumerator.
bndarray | DataFrame | numberDenominator.

Outputs

PortTypeDescription
quotientndarraya / b, element-wise (true division).

✖️ Multiply

id numpy_multiply · Math · Python export: yes

Element-wise a * b (np.multiply), with NumPy broadcasting. This is NOT matrix multiplication.

Inputs

PortTypeDescription
andarray | DataFrame | numberLeft operand.
bndarray | DataFrame | numberRight operand.

Outputs

PortTypeDescription
productndarraya * b, element-wise.

🧱 Reshape

id numpy_reshape · Math · Python export: yes

Reshape an array to the comma-separated shape typed in the field (e.g. 2,3 or 4,1,1). The total number of elements must match. To take the shape from another node, use the Array "Reshape" node.

Inputs

PortTypeDescription
arrayndarray | DataFrame | listArray to reshape.

Outputs

PortTypeDescription
reshapedndarrayThe reshaped array.

Fields

FieldTypeDefaultChoices
Shapetext2,2

🗜️ Squeeze

id numpy_squeeze · Math · Python export: yes

Remove length-1 axes from an array (np.squeeze), e.g. shape (1, 3, 1) becomes (3,).

Inputs

PortTypeDescription
arrayndarray | DataFrame | listArray to squeeze.

Outputs

PortTypeDescription
squeezedndarrayArray with size-1 axes removed.

➖ Subtract

id numpy_subtract · Math · Python export: yes

Element-wise a - b (np.subtract), with NumPy broadcasting.

Inputs

PortTypeDescription
andarray | DataFrame | numberLeft operand.
bndarray | DataFrame | numberRight operand.

Outputs

PortTypeDescription
differencendarraya - b.

Text

🔗 Join

id string_join · Text · Python export: yes

Join a list into one string, putting the separator between items. Items that aren't text are converted with str().

Inputs

PortTypeDescription
itemslistThe items to join (e.g. from Split or a List node).
sepstrText placed between items (overrides the Separator field). Overrides the Separator field when connected.

Outputs

PortTypeDescription
textstrThe joined string.

Fields

FieldTypeDefaultChoices
Separatortext,

🔡 Lowercase

id lowercase · Text · Python export: yes

Convert text to lower case.

Inputs

PortTypeDescription
textstrText to operate on (overrides the Text field). Overrides the Text field when connected.

Outputs

PortTypeDescription
textstrThe lower-cased text.

Fields

FieldTypeDefaultChoices
Texttext

🔁 Replace

id string_replace · Text · Python export: yes

Replace every occurrence of one piece of text with another (case-sensitive). Set 'Max replacements' to a positive number to limit how many are changed; -1 replaces all. An empty 'Find' leaves the text unchanged.

Inputs

PortTypeDescription
textstrText to operate on (overrides the Text field). Overrides the Text field when connected.
oldstrText to look for (overrides the Find field). Overrides the Find field when connected.
newstrText to put in its place (overrides the Replace with field). Overrides the Replace with field when connected.

Outputs

PortTypeDescription
textstrThe text with replacements applied.

Fields

FieldTypeDefaultChoices
Texttext
Findtext
Replace withtext
Max replacements (-1 = all)int-1

🪓 Split

id string_split · Text · Python export: yes

Split text into a list of strings. Leave 'Separator' blank to split on any whitespace (spaces, tabs, line breaks) and drop empty items; with a separator, splits exactly on it. 'Max splits' of -1 means no limit.

Inputs

PortTypeDescription
textstrText to operate on (overrides the Text field). Overrides the Text field when connected.
sepstrSeparator; blank = any whitespace (overrides the field). Overrides the Separator field when connected.

Outputs

PortTypeDescription
partslistThe pieces, as a list of strings.

Fields

FieldTypeDefaultChoices
Texttext
Separatortext,
Max splits (-1 = no limit)int-1

✂️ Strip

id string_strip · Text · Python export: yes

Remove characters from both ends of the text. Leave 'Characters' blank to trim whitespace (spaces, tabs, line breaks); otherwise every character listed is trimmed.

Inputs

PortTypeDescription
textstrText to operate on (overrides the Text field). Overrides the Text field when connected.
charsstrCharacters to trim; blank = whitespace (overrides the field). Overrides the Characters field when connected.
