Tutorial: build a graph with the Ctrl+K palette

The Library sidebar is good for browsing. Once you know roughly what you want, the node palette is faster: press a key, type a few letters, then press Enter. In this tutorial you'll build a three-node chart workflow without leaving the keyboard.

Open the palette

On the Graph Design screen, press Ctrl+K. A search box opens over the canvas.

  • Type to filter. Text matches the node's name, its label and its category, so csv, CSV Read and I/O all find the CSV reader.
  • ↑ / ↓ move the highlight. Enter places the highlighted node in the centre of the visible canvas.
  • Esc or Ctrl+K again closes the palette without adding anything.

The palette and the Library list exactly the same nodes, including your own user_blocks nodes and installed marketplace modules, and nodes placed either way behave identically.

Build a chart in three keystrokes

  1. Press Ctrl+K, type csv read, and press Enter to add CSV Read. Set its path to a CSV file in sample_data/.
  2. Press Ctrl+K, type scatter, and press Enter to add Scatter Plot.
  3. Drag from the CSV node's output port to the scatter node's input port. Set the scatter's x and y column fields.
  4. Click Run. The scatter node previews the chart.

Placed nodes land in the centre of the view, so pan a little between placements to keep them apart, or drag them afterwards.

Tips

  • Not sure of the name? Type the category (ml, rag, map, 3d) and scroll the results.
  • Learn a node before wiring it: hover its ports for their types and descriptions, or right-click it for its full documentation.
  • Copy and paste (Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V) duplicates a configured node, which is often quicker than placing a fresh one and setting its fields again.
